چکیده
Objective: To evaluate the isolated pathogens in patients who underwent central venous catheterization due to cardiovascular procedures. Materials and Methods: Patients were monitored daily for development of catheter related infections. Between April 2017 July 2019, exhibited infection symptoms like discharge, fever, pain, lymphadenopathy itching after included this retrospective study. Patients’ types, insertion sites, total durations, culture results, sensitivities resistances against antimicrobial drugs recorded analyzed. Results: Eighty-six various indications included. Mean age was 52.70±17.82 years. Bacterial growth found 62.79% patients. The most common sites right subclavian vein, jugular vein femoral vein. commonly microorganism S. aureus by 25.58% followed E.coli (6.98%), haemolyticus (5.81%) K.pneumonia (5.81%). detected be sensitive vancomycin linezolid. Conclusion: Factors affecting incidence these infections include site, duration, selection skills practitioners. Data literature about catheter-related their sensitivity resistance agents are mostly old. Further comprehensive, multicenter studies needed on issue.

Should central venous catheters be used to drain pleural effusions?
However, we have reservations regarding the routine use of central venous catheters to drain pleural effusions. Several manufacturers (including the Sims-Portex Seldinger Chest Drainage Kit and Cook Quick-Thal Chest Tube) have specific chest drainage systems that take advantage of the Seldinger dilator over a wire method of insertion. These have the advantage of having a number of side ports (t...
متن کاملCentral venous catheters.
Central venous catheterisation was first performed in 1929when Werner Frossman, a German doctor, inserted a ureteric catheter into his antecubital vein. He then walked to the radiography department so that the catheter could be guided into his right ventricle using fluoroscopy. Since then, central venous access has become amainstay of modern clinical practice. An estimated 200 000 central venou...

Thus it is not surprising that meta-analysis of these disparate studies (which have not been scored by traditional methods to assess for bias and scientific rigor) would find statistical significance only in success of line insertion. ...
متن کاملAntiseptic-impregnated central venous catheters: their evaluation in burn patients.
Central venous catheter-related infections are an important source of morbidity and mortality in burn patients. Antiseptic impregnated catheters have been recommended to prevent infections related to central venous lines in high-risk patients who require short-term catheters. This prospective, randomized, and controlled study compared the efficacy of standard and antiseptic devices in reducing ...
متن کاملOutcome of tunnelled central venous catheters used for haemodialysis in children weighing less than 15 kg.
PURPOSE Central venous catheters (CVC) are frequently used for haemodialysis (HD) in children. However, there is paucity of information on the outcomes of CVCs when used for HD in very young patients. Our objective is to report the success, safety and complication rates of CVCs used for HD in children weighing less than 15 kg. MATERIALS AND METHODS This is a single-center retrospective study ...
